Who’s Next was released in 1971 and had songs such as “Baba O’Riley” and “Behind Blue Eyes.” 1973 saw the publication of the band’s album Quadrophenia, as well as the debut of Tommy as a film (1975). The popularity of Tommy’s follow-up, Lifehouse, caused Townshend to leave the project.
